Meet Janel Halloff, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Therapist

I believe that with the proper support, a person can begin to rebuild, adjust, and make meaning out of their experiences and losses, all while continuing to honor and feel connected to their loved one along the way.
Janel Halloff, LCSW

Welcome. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate through grief, loss, trauma, and life’s many challenges. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and my goal is to walk alongside you as you discover hope and strength in the face of hardship.

I have experience in several different social work settings, including schools, hospice, and grief support. I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Arizona State University in 2011 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2018, with a specialized focus on children, youth, and families. Prior to starting private practice, I spent several years (2018–2022) with the New Song Center for Grieving Children, managing their family support group program for those who have experienced the death of a child. Subsequently, I served as an associate therapist at the Center for Compassion from 2022 to 2026.

My Personal Calling

“I have endured many losses of my own; however, the most significant death loss was that of my late husband, Chris, who died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2007. His death forever changed the trajectory of my life.

My calling is now to guide others on their own grief journey when they find themselves needing to endure their own significant loss. I understand the weight of grief, and I am here to help you weather the storm.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about starting therapy with me

Telehealth allows us to meet online through a secure, confidential, HIPAA-compliant video connection. You will receive a simple link prior to our session. You just click the link from your phone, tablet, or computer. This makes scheduling convenient, removes travel time, and lets you process in a comfortable, familiar environment. I am licensed to see any clients residing in the state of Arizona.
Individual sessions are billed at **$150** per session. Sessions run for approximately 50 minutes. We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.
I am an Out-of-Network provider. This means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, I can provide you with a monthly statement (often called a "Superbill") which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network mental health benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance carrier directly to ask about your out-of-network behavioral health coverage.
Our initial session is a time to connect, begin building trust, and understand what is bringing you to therapy. We will discuss your background, your history, your current goals, and map out a gentle plan for how we can work together. There is no pressure to share everything right away; we will go at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you.
Since your session time is reserved exclusively for you, a minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice (or missed appointments) will be subject to a $100 cancellation fee.
